Sauternes Bastor-Lamontagne

Sauternes Bastor-Lamontagne is a benchmark of the Bordeaux vineyards. The Sauternes appellation, south of Bordeaux, is recognised the world over for its sweet wines made from botrytis: the noble rot that concentrates the sugars within the berry. Château Bastor-Lamontagne carries on this tradition with rigour: careful selection of the berries, attentive winemaking and long ageing, for a style that is both elegant and contemporary.

The aromatic profile combines the notes characteristic of Sauternes: honeyed (acacia, orange blossom), candied fruit, citrus, apricot, white flowers. The balance between richness and freshness is the signature of this wine: the silky texture and precise finish make it a refined sweet wine, never heavy on the palate.

Sauternes pairs beautifully with foie gras (the wine's sugar balances the richness of the foie gras, its acidity cleanses the palate between mouthfuls), but also with smoked fish and certain salmon preparations, in a spirit of continuity with the House's other worlds. It also lends itself to blue cheeses (Roquefort, Stilton), lightly spiced cuisine, and fruit desserts (apricot tart, crème brûlée).

Finest Caviar Beluga is one of the most iconic caviars in our range. A true benchmark far beyond gastronomy; it even appears in the James Bond films. It is harvested from the Huso Huso sturgeon, one of the largest and most ancient fish in the world. This fish can reach up to five metres in length and weigh up to a tonne. Its remarkably generous pearls take on a pale grey, almost pearly hue. Its very creamy texture then reveals delicate buttery notes and a touch of hazelnut on the finish. Between power and delicacy, this aromatic density marks the unique character of Beluga. Tasting the caviar on its own, with a mother-of-pearl spoon or "a la royale" on the palm of the hand, remains the finest way to appreciate its full aromatic richness. To extend the experience, champagne reveals the most subtle notes of Beluga, like a flavour enhancer; served ice-cold, Beluga vodka also makes a historic pairing.
