FAQ
Our expert answers your questions
What is the difference between the Brut and the Rosé?
The Brut has a mineral, lively, dry profile, particularly suited to the caviar pairing. The Rosé offers a fruitier profile (wild strawberry, raspberry, citrus), a more pronounced aromatic structure, an extended length on the palate. The two cuvées are complementary: Brut for caviar and very briny products, Rosé for salmon and more structured dishes.
How is rosé obtained?
Rosé champagne can be obtained by two methods: blending (mixing red wine and white wine during production, a method unique to Champagne and permitted by the AOC), or saignée (a short maceration of the red grapes before pressing, giving a deeper hue). Our Rosé cuvée is crafted according to Maison Lombard's own method, in a spirit of richer aromatic structure.
Is the rosé suitable for desserts?
Yes, particularly for red-fruit desserts (raspberry charlotte, strawberry tart, red-fruit mousse). The fruity structure of the rosé speaks naturally to these flavours, in a spirit of harmony. For chocolate or very sweet desserts, choose instead a dedicated sweet wine (Sauternes, Maury, Banyuls).
Does the rosé keep as long?
Yes, the storage guidance is identical to the brut. It ages well for several years in good cellar conditions. Once opened, 24 to 48 hours to preserve the effervescence, to be kept chilled with an airtight stopper. The structure of the rosé may even allow a slightly longer life once opened, but do not prolong it needlessly.
Caviar House Rosé Champagne (0,75cl)
Caviar House Rosé Champagne is the rosé expression of our signature cuvée. Crafted by the same Maison Lombard as our Brut, this cuvée sets itself apart with a richer aromatic profile: fruity notes (wild strawberry, raspberry, citrus), a more pronounced structure, an extended length on the palate.
Rosé champagne plays a different role from the brut in the wine-and-product pairing. Its more assertive structure makes it particularly suited to more pronounced products: smoked salmon (notably the more powerful versions such as the Balik Tsar Nikolaj), festive dishes, even certain white meats.
Ideal for aperitifs with a fruity character, smoked salmon tastings, spring and summer meals, or simply to offer an alternative to the classic brut.
