FAQ
Our expert answers your questions
What is the difference between the Tsar Nikolaj formats?
The 4 One is the single-portion format (120 g) for a tasting on your own. The For Two (320 g) is sized for around two guests. The Airport is a large format ideal for sharing, as is the No. 1 Black Edition, the masterpiece of the House of Balik. All are made to the same traditional Tsar Nikolaj recipe.
How should Balik fillets be served?
We recommend cutting slices about 1 cm thick with a long, perfectly sharpened knife. That way you can make the most of its melting texture. Arrange the slices in a fan on an individual plate to show off their colour and texture.
What quantity for a gift?
The 4 One (120 g) is ideal for a refined individual gift. For a more generous gift, choose the For Two (320 g). For an exceptional gift, the No. 1 Black Edition (~500 g), the masterpiece of the Manufacture, will leave its mark on minds and palates alike!
Balik Fillet Tsar Nikolaj 4 One
The Balik Fillet Tsar Nikolaj is one of the most iconic signatures of the House of Balik. It carries on the smoking tradition of the court of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, in the iconic kiln of the Balik farm at Ebersol. The fillet is cut from the back of the salmon, the noblest and most muscular part, ensuring a remarkable consistency and finesse.
The 4 One format, at 120 g, is the single-portion size in the Tsar Nikolaj range. On the palate, the ultra-melting texture distinctive to Balik meets the aromatic richness of the tsarist recipe, in a rare balance.
