FAQ
Our expert answers your questions
Why is Almas called "diamond"?
Almas means "diamond" in old Persian. The name refers to the dazzling white colour of the pearls, which recalls the brilliance of pearls or diamonds. It is a traditional name that established itself from the earliest historical sale of caviar from albino sturgeon.
How is Almas produced today?
Almas by Caviar House comes from highly limited farms of albino sturgeon. This approach makes it possible to preserve the signature of this precious caviar without endangering wild populations, which are now protected.
Why does Almas have a lighter flavour than Beluga?
Almas and Beluga come from the same sturgeon species (Huso Huso), but Almas comes from an albino variety that naturally develops a more delicate and more subtle aromatic signature. Where Beluga unfolds its buttery depth, Almas plays on purity. It is a different expression of the same species, complementing the Prestige range.
For what occasion should you give an Almas?
Almas is suited to truly exceptional moments: a wedding anniversary, a great personal celebration, a gift that must leave a lasting impression on your guests. Its rarity makes it one of the most distinctive gastronomic gifts in the world. To preserve the effect, pair it with a brut nature champagne or elevate its presentation with our dedicated caviar set.
